4-Day Tour: City Tour - Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Rainbow Mountain

Your adventure begins with an immersion in the capital of the Inca Empire, considered the "navel of the world" by this ancient civilization. The tour starts with a pick-up from your hotel between 12:50 and 13:00, taking you on a journey through time in the Imperial City of Cusco.

• 13:00 - Start of the Tour
  Our professional guide will pick you up from your accommodation to begin this fascinating cultural adventure through the imperial city.
• 13:30 - Cusco Cathedral
  Visit this magnificent example of colonial architecture built on the site of Wiracocha's Inca palace. You can admire more than 600 paintings from the famous Cusco School, including "The Last Supper" with guinea pig as the main course (approximately 40 minutes).
• 14:30 - Qoricancha
  Walk along the cobblestone Inca streets to the "Temple of the Sun," the most important religious site of the Inca Empire. Here you will learn about ancestral beliefs and admire the impressive megalithic architecture (45 minutes).
• 15:15 - Sacsayhuamán
  Travel by transport to this imposing ceremonial fortress with stone blocks weighing up to 125 tons, perfectly assembled without mortar. This temple dedicated to the god Illapa (lightning) will leave you speechless (45 minutes).
• 16:00 - Qenqo
  Visit this ancient temple dedicated to the worship of Pachamama (Mother Earth), with its fascinating channels carved in rock and its semicircular amphitheater.
• 16:30 - Puka Pukara and Tambomachay
  Exploration of these two archaeological sites: a military checkpoint with panoramic views and the "Inca Bath", a sophisticated hydraulic system that demonstrates the advanced knowledge of the Inca.
• 18:00 - Return to the Center
  We'll drop you off near the Plaza de Armas so you can freely enjoy the local cuisine, nightlife, and craft shops.

• 3:20 hrs. - Meeting Point
  Please arrive at the Wanchaq Bus Station. Punctuality is essential to avoid missing your scheduled connections. We recommend preparing everything you need for this special day the night before.
• 3:20 - 5:35 hrs. - Transfer to Ollantaytambo
  Take a bus from Cusco to the train station in Ollantaytambo. During the journey, you can rest or watch as the sunrise gradually illuminates the majestic Andes.
• 5:35 - 7:40 hrs. - Train Trip
  Boarding the "Voyager" or "Expedition" train to Aguas Calientes. This 1 hour and 45 minute journey is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, winding through mountains and following the course of the Urubamba River at the bottom of the valley.
• 7:40 - 8:25 hrs. - Ascent to Machu Picchu
  Transfer by bus from Aguas Calientes to the entrance of Machu Picchu. The journey ascends a zigzag road that offers spectacular views of the natural surroundings.
• 8:25 am - 12:00 hrs. - Machu Picchu Exploration
  Enjoy a guided tour of the Historic Sanctuary lasting approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. You'll see the main temples, plazas, and Inca structures, and have time to capture the iconic panoramic photo of the citadel.
• 12:30 - 18:30 hrs. - Free time in Aguas Calientes
  Descent to Aguas Calientes where you will have free time for lunch (not included) and to explore this picturesque town surrounded by imposing mountains and the relaxing sound of the Urubamba River.
• 18:30 - 23:00 hrs. - Return to Cusco
  Boarding the "The Voyager or Expedition" train back to Ollantaytambo and subsequent transfer by bus to Cusco, arriving at approximately 23:00 hrs.

• Chinchero
  We'll explore this traditional textile center with its impressive colonial church built on Inca foundations. You'll learn about ancestral methods of dyeing with natural dyes and weaving that have been passed down through generations.
• Moray
  We will visit this fascinating Inca agricultural laboratory with its concentric circular terraces. Each level had a different microclimate, allowing for experimentation with diverse crops.
• Maras
  We will contemplate the impressive salt mines of Maras, thousands of stepped pools where salt has been extracted since pre-Incan times through an ingenious evaporation system.
• Urubamba: Relaxation and Gastronomy
  After a morning full of discoveries, we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in Urubamba, the heart of the Sacred Valley.
• The Afternoon: Ollantaytambo and Pisac
  After lunch, our tour continues to Ollantaytambo, one of the few places where the Spanish were defeated by the Incas during the conquest. This impressive archaeological complex, with its monumental terraces and perfectly carved stone temples, represents one of the finest examples of Inca urban planning.

• 4:00 hrs. - Start of the Adventure
  Very early in the morning, our team will pick you up from your accommodation to begin the journey to the district of Cusipata-Paucarpata in the province of Quispicanchis. The journey takes approximately 2 hours and will allow you to witness the sunrise over the majestic Andes as we travel along rural roads that offer spectacular views.
• 6:00 hrs. - Energizing Breakfast
  Upon arrival at the local community, we'll enjoy a hearty breakfast that will provide us with the energy needed for our hike. This is also a good time to acclimatize to the altitude and prepare our gear for the excursion.
• 7:00 hrs. - Trip to the Starting Point
  We'll continue for approximately another hour in our transport until we reach the checkpoint, the starting point of our hike. Here, we recommend applying sunscreen, adjusting your clothing according to the weather, and mentally preparing yourself for the experience.
• 8:00 - 9:20 hrs. - Mountain Ascent
  We will begin a hike of approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach the foothills of Red Valley, the access point to Rainbow Mountain. The hike is at a moderate pace, with strategic stops to acclimatize and enjoy the scenery.
• 9:30 - 11:30 hrs. - Exploration and Photography
  Arrival at the Rainbow Mountain observation area. Our expert guide will explain the fascinating geological phenomenon that has created these multicolored bands over millions of years. We will also be able to observe the imposing snow-capped Ausangate, the highest mountain in the Cusco region.
